About this scholarship

New York funds undergraduate students with foster care or orphan status who attend SUNY, CUNY, or a private college taking part in the HEOP program. The money is directed through each campus financial aid office and helps cover costs such as housing and meals.

Who can apply

Applicants must be New York State residents who spent time in foster care at any point after their 13th birthday, or who are orphans.

Every scholarship in this directory is exclusively for current or former foster youth. Read the sponsor’s own eligibility rules before you start — they decide who qualifies.
